Credit Cards are associated with a revolving line of credit.
Debit Cards are connected to a checking or savings account.

Visa Card
VISA Debit and Credit Cards are issued through banks and other financial institutions. With the exception of certain specialty cards such as Health Benefits Cards and Purchasing Cards, any card bearing the VISA Logo can be accepted as payment at any business that has a merchant account.
MasterCard
MasterCard Debit and Credit Cards are issued through banks and other financial institutions. With the exception of certain specialty cards such as Health Benefits Cards and Purchasing Cards, any card bearing the MasterCard Logo can be accepted as a form of payment at any business that has a merchant account.
Discover Network
Discover issues Credit Cards directly to card holders as well as through banks and other financial institutions. Any card bearing the Discover Logo can be accepted as a form of payment at any business that has a merchant account.
American Express
American Express issues Charge, Credit and Prepaid Cards directly to card holders. Merchants must sign up for American Express before they will be able to take any card with the American Express Logo.
Specialty Cards
Specialty cards are those issued by organizations other than the major card brands.
PayPal Card
PayPal Cards come in several varieties. Most of their debit and credit cards have the MasterCard logo on it and can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted. Some of their newer cards have only the PayPal logo on them. PayPal entered into an agreement with Discover allowing merchants to accept true PayPal branded cards so long as they can accept Discover. We activate PayPal Cards on all of our merchant accounts.
JCB Card
JCB Cards are issued in Japan and are used extensively by tourists and business travelers in the US. JCB stands for Japan Credit Bureau. JCB entered into an agreement with Discover allowing all US merchants that can accept Discover Cards to also be able to accept JCB Cards without the need to open a separate account with JCB. We activate JCB Cards on all of our merchant accounts.
UnionPay Card
UnionPay Cards are issued in China and may be used by tourists and business travelers in the US. Only businesses located in major US cities should consider being setup to accept UnionPay Cards. UnionPay acceptance is a special service that should be requested before opening your merchant account as it requires special handling.
